THE DAY AFTER THE FAIR
by Frank Harvey

The Day After The Fair is based on the short story On The Western Circuit by Thomas Hardy. Anna, a young servant girl, meets an attractive stranger from London at the local fair. Their romantic encounter changes more than one life in this compelling and bittersweet drama.

“Gracefully acted by a well-chosen cast and delicately directed by Robin Armstrong, who also designed the period costumes, this is theater steeped in elegance and longing.” Elaine Liner, Dallas Observer

“... so delicately rendered here as to make its slowly, inexorably building sorrow a particular pleasure in spite of its devastating payoff.” Tom Sime, The Dallas Morning News

“Theatre Britain has mounted an impeccable staging of this bittersweet play...”
Perry Stewart, Fort Worth Star Telegram

“Theatre Britain’s handsome, stately production at the Trinity River Arts Center crystallizes the hypocrisies in Victorian society as they relate to women.”
Arnold Wayne Jones, Dallas Voice
